About Stacklist

Stacklist is a social bookmarking platform that allows users to easily save, organize, and share their favorite web content through collections called “Stacks.” As a rapidly growing startup, we are seeking a skilled Freelance Full Stack Engineer to help scale our platform and enhance the user experience.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on backend services to join our small team. You'll primarily work on backend services using TypeScript-based cloud functions and contribute to the frontend with NextJS and TypeScript. Although we also have AI components in Python, mobile apps (Flutter for iOS/Android), and browser extensions (JavaScript), these are not part of your primary responsibilities but are part of our broader ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Cloud Functions

  • Collaborate on frontend development using NextJS and TypeScript

  • Participate in code reviews, pull requests on GitHub

  • Conduct QA testing on dev and staging environments before pushing releases

  • Deploy backend services via CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

  • Backend: TypeScript (Cloud Functions)

  • Frontend: NextJS (TypeScript)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Bonus: Experience with Flutter for mobile development

  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

Collaboration Style

  • One-week sprints with tasks prepared on Friday for the upcoming sprint week

  • Daily stand-ups on Mon/Wed/Fri, with asynchronous communication through Slack

  • PRs are merged after approval using squash and merge

  • Releases are made twice a week to keep all environments up-to-date and ensure quick, iterative development

  • The team consists of 4 members, with a focus on async communication and collaboration

  • Timezones of the team are

    • GMT +2 and GMT -4

Contract Details

  • Remote position

  • Flexible hours & asynchronous hours

  • Competitive contract rate, negotiable based on experience
